Well guys firstly let mle apologise for the lack of updates coming from morocco, the surf has finally gone flat giving me the chance to do the blog and also give my arms back shoulder and legs time to recover!!!!!!
if i’m honest i didn’t think we would get here, we started out leaving our home in perranporth on the 13th of jan at around midday, the weather forecast was real heavy snow so we wanted to leave early to give us plenty of time and wasn’t that our saving grace!!!!!!
so 4 hours into the journey up to my “better half’s” aunties in watford she receives a phone call from her mum asking if we needed a green plain lazy bag left by the front door!!!!!!! as soon as i look to see sammy her face instantly gave away there was something going wrong…… she put the phone down and started to giggle, not the normal funny giggle you’d expect if she was nervous, this giggle had “trouble” written all over it… she looked at me and said “lumoxs, pull off at the next junction, you’ve only gone and forgotten the passports you idiot” my heart sunk we were on a tight budget as it was with fuel etc etc but for us to turn around and come back up means we were eating into our holiday funds….. not a good idea in the slightest!!!!!
so we pull off at bristol services grab a KFC and hit the open M5 again, on the way back we hit this dreadful weather we were warned about solid blizzards, jack knifed lorries…….. i was confused as too how much carnage can happen this day nd age in great britain and in the space of 4 hours!!!!! honestly it was almost like something out of 2012…. just sheer craziness!!!!
the trip back home took us 6 hours so now when we got home the time was 7:30PM but on the way, something else decided it didn’t want us to leave the UK, THE VAN, it was sweet running up and back…. can’t fault it but when we got back into the UK a little faint light come on on my battery on the dash, thought nothing of it and kept motoring, what a costly mistake, as i pull into my girlfriends drive the van “conks” out on me, i smell rubber burning so as i look underneath the bonnet i can see my AUX belt has slipped off the pulleys and cause a complete mess underneath…….. this van wasn’t going anywhere!!!!!
in a desperate attempt to get us there i called halfords but they had nothing in stock, for me that was it, trip over…… so being the facebook whore that i am, i put my status “cheers van bye bye holiday” it wasn’t long before one of my mates rung me “lumoxs” he said ” what’s up with your van???” so i continued to explain to him what’s happened and everything when he simply turns around and says “do you guys want to borrow my 106 diesel??” i dropped the phone in excitement sammy was like a 3 year old on christmas day opening that present she’s always dreamed off……. THE TRIP WAS BACK ON!!!!!!!!!!!
so we load up my 9′6 board bag and head back onto the open roads…… once again battling jack knifed lorries blizzards and closed roads, we left our house AGAIN at 9pm and arrived in watford at 5:30AM we were both totally exhausted so we dig out th sleeping bags and get the heads down for a few hours, daylight comes and so does sammy’s auntie, beaming with a smile she welcomes us into her house nice n warm “eggs n bacon lumoxs” she says………. cooorrrr she knows me well!!!! so after the ole egg abd bacon sarnie we hit the road for stansted airport….. about an hour drive from stansted once we arrive me and sammy can hardly contain our excitement as we look around and see at least _” of snow everywhere i kept saying “how weird is this, in 4 hours were gonna be in 27 degree heat!!!!”………… the check in gate open’s we check our stuff in and head for the departure lounge to chill out till our gate opens!!!!! were both sat there and can’t wait to leave the cold n miserable England and hit the warm (yet very smelly) morocco the gate opens and it’s like a heard of cows all running for the gate to get the best seats, we don’t care were just happy to be getting away for 3 weeks………..
We land in morocco at 7:30pm at agadir airport, whilst on the plane we met this really cool American kid, Travis he was called, from Cali we started talking and he mentioned he was also on route to taghazout….. and not knowing anyone he was kinda reserved in going, so i offered him to catch the taxi with us and stay at our accommodation!!!!! he took us up on the offer so we yelled for a taxi and loaded our boards and luggage onto the taxi and headed for the surf mecca taghazout…….. we get into the town at about 9ish and remembering from here last year went straight to a place called residance taghazout oufella, the man who runs it is a very quite man called Ali it’s very cheap for the 3 weeks were staying here at only 200 DHMS a night that’s the same as about 20 GBP divided between 3 its very cheap!!!! so our heads hit the pillow and were out for the night it took me about 45 minutes to calm down as i hear the waves smash into the shore outside………… knowing that when the morning comes it’s going to be a good day!!!!!
